| Storm water runoff carries trash, debris, gross and suspended solids, chemicals and bacteria that must be removed prior to being released to the environment. In the first stage of treatment, storm water is diverted through a gate filter that captures bulk trash and debris. Here an EchoSonic II ultrasonic level sensor is installed on the up-flow side of the filter within a canal.
