- Range is the maximum measurement distance of the sensor.
- Make sure the maximum range is not less than the tank height.
- Double the sensor range in applications with higher temperature, condensation and turbulence.
|
| Part 2 - View Slide |
- Tank height is the distance from the face of the transducer down to the bottom of the tank; this is your 4 mA set point or "tank empty."
- Fill height is the distance from the face of the transducer to the maximum desired liquid height; this is your 20 mA set point or "tank full."
- Riser height is the distance from the face of the transducer to the top of the tank; add riser height to tank height measurement.

| Part 3 - View Slide |
- Dead band is the minimum distance from the face of the transducer from which the sensor can measure.
- Liquid should never enter the sensor's dead band.
|
| Part 4 - View Slide |
- Select appropriate sensor range based on your tank height and application variables.
- Input tank height and fill height set points.
